It could be awkward to decide who goes first. A randomizer is designed to help people out.
Use the randomizer to select the person to start the conversation.
There are two types of topics. The one you chose related to your work or life beforehand will be the default option.
Because when people choose the image, they are prepared to talk about it. So they knew what to talk about. Or you can switch to talk about the destination both of you are going to.
And the timer above are designed for two purposes:
For one thing, it is to reduce social anxiety.
Like this example, if the conversation didn’t go well, you’ll know it will end within 10 minutes anyway.
Knowing that this conversation will end in 10min can also urge people to get to the important point as soon as possible, whether it is about their destination or getting to know the other person as much as possible.
A good conversation should bounce back and forth between two people.
If the conversation stops at one person’s side, the machine will detect that and pop up a question for that person to answer to help the conversation continue.
These pop-up questions show up whenever the awkward silence is about to happen, closely related to people’s mutual interests.
And with this design, you don’t need to worry about how to start or end a conversation with strangers.
And you don’t have to reject people in person because you don’t need to make any decision until half an hour later on the app.
